So a problem I ran into while scripting this update was working out the kinks of Artem's abilities. He isn't particularly suited to close-combat and his ability, while powerful has a massive drawback in its awful lag time. I've mapped out how Artem grows as a fighter across the series but something I didn't work out until this update was how his power works exactly.

If anyone here's a My Hero Academia fan, you'll no doubt have heard Katsuki Bakugou's commentary on repeated power usage eventually draining a hero's stamina. He likens it to a 'magic meter' in a videogame which steadily depletes as attacks are used. Pretty straightforward, eh?

So yeah, while it may be obvious at the outset, I wanted to emphasise the power gap between Artem and even the weakest of villains he may face (Ramon is pretty strong mind you). I went about this by basically hinting that Artem's meter not only depletes quicker than more seasoned fighters such as Ramon, but that he often uses it all in one go once he finds an opening. In his practice bouts, that may be all he needed, but he hadn't banked on fighting someone who covered their bases pretty well.

And then, he drops another clue about this secret weapon he's working on. Could that be something to overcome this specific problem...or is it something else entirely?

He's gonna have to train waaaaay more if his enemies only get stronger from here on out.

Absolutely - you'll see why he's never really had to up his game all that much next chapter. I suppose his power is just a bit 'glass-cannon'/all-or-nothing at the moment. It's strong but once he uses it he's out of ideas.

If you've ever seen Hunter x Hunter, that's the kind of power scaling I'm going for. They all get stronger, but his enemies? Hoo wee it'll be a wild ride that's all I'm saying ;P
